Three aventures climbed into the old truck. The one parked next to an equally old jeep. The steering wheel moved back and forth as his little hands drove to “work”. “I need some music”, he said. “Can you go get your phone? I want to listen to music on my way to work.” For the moment three Brothers were on the grandest adventure. The kind where time stands still for a moment. The sun was slowly setting behind them. Pretty soon mom came out and called to them, “time for bed boys.” She smiled as she saw them playing in the same old rigs she played in as a little girl. Visiting the cabin is a tradition that is being passed down from generation to generation. Here where the creek runs by, the birds are constantly singing their songs, where the camp fire crackles and memories are made. Here at the cabin.

“I hope you can see how the everyday sweet little things are the most beautiful.”

He loves her, she love him and they love little Ashton. On a beautiful evening in a gorgeous field we caught their hearts together. One of Rachael’s favorite songs puts it perfectly. In the words of Lee Brice, “Be best friends, tell the truth, and overuse I love you. Go to work, do your best, don’t outsmart your common sense. Never let your prayin’ knees get lazy, and love like crazy.”

Oh those baby cheeks! Don’t you just want to kiss him? Sissy sure does. He isn’t always very sure he wants sissy kisses though. lol. These two are just the cutest.
“How do you spell love?” – Piglet. “You don’t spell it you feel it.” – Pooh

I will not play at tug o’ war. I’d rather play at hug o’ war. Where everyone hugs instead of tugs. Where everyone giggles and rolls on the rug. Where everyone kisses, and everyone grins, and everyone cuddles, and everyone wins. -Shel Silverstein
I love all of Shel’s poems, but this one feels perfect for this happy family day. Playing at the park, and taking pictures as we strolled through the most gorgeous autumn day.

The warm evening light falling down from the shoulder of the mountain covered them as they played on the little dirt road. Together is where they are meant to be. Together through the ups together through the downs. A cord of 3 cannot be broken. Sometimes they are silly together, sometimes they are thoughtful together, sometimes they laugh together and sometimes they all yell at the same time. They are family. Not perfect, not imperfect, not defined by that, but defined by their love for each other. Their up and down and all around crazy days and laughing days and crabby days and regular days, that kind of love. The kind that says lets be together, the 3 of us, because for us together is perfect.

Bryn lives in Alaska, but loves to come down with the littles to visit her family. This time Grandpa and Grandma and Bryn’s brother all met with us at the park for family pictures. The littles loved playing and running. Sissy is just beginning to walk, and brother showed us how fast he can run. He also had a jumping contest with his uncle and played with Grandpa. Grandma and sissy played, and mommy took turns with the two littles playing and exploring. It was a happy little moment carved out in time.
Family is a beautiful thing to have, and the sweetness is even stronger when the visits are far between.
