These two lovelies share the same birthday. One is one of my best friends, the other is my daughter. When I was pregnant with Mahala, Megan would always tell me, “the best present would be if you had her on my birthday”. My reply was always, “no way!”. That would mean I went passed my due date. Well guess what, I went passed my due date. Mahala was born exactly on Megan’s birthday, and ever since we have had as many birthday parties together as we can. One of my favorite memories was when I let the two of them go cake shopping together. We had decided on a delicious chocolate lover’s cake from Costco, but when they got there Mahala fell in love with a half sheet cake with a caterpillar on it. If I remember right Mahala told Megan the smile on the caterpillar made her think of God and how he loves us. Well you guessed it both cakes came home. Megan couldn’t resist Mahala’s cuteness. Cake overload is what pursued! They also got banned from cake shopping together. 🙂
This birthday marks the 12th anniversary of birthdays together. As always they are two of the cutest people I know. Each has a huge place in my heart, and I absolutely love this session of our families together on their birthday.
