Families are like branches on a tree. We grow in different directions yet our roots remain as one.

The best family session is a fun family session. One with sweet moments and silly moments. Maybe a little running. Definitely some leaf throwing and laughing. A few hugs and then off to explore a little more.
Family time is the best time!

My girls love their horses and honestly the horses love them back. Fancy has been in the family since she was born on Grandpa Wayne’s property nearly 30 years ago. Hannah inherited her when she was ten and the two went on adventures all over the area where we live. Once Hannah and our neighbor Lorie went on a ride. Hannah was on bare back. As they went up a steep hill Hannah began to slide off of Fancy. Fancy stopped and waited for Hannah to climb back up. She has also helped Hannah on with a little nudge from her nose. She has been one of those irreplaceable horses. Mahala learned to ride on her and Maya has also. Maya has painted her “toe nails”. Trimmed her tail when I wasn’t watching and pretended she was a horse eating grass right underneath her. (Not something I let her do when I caught her) She has been the best horse a little girl could ask for. Champagne (Chammy) has come along recently as the girls have gotten more experienced at riding. She and the girls have gone on many adventures together. She is a sweet heart so long as her friend Fancy is with her. She throws such a fit if she has to leave her best friend that the girls have decided to always take Fancy along. Sometimes Fancy even goes without a rider. She just tags along for the ride. They are all best friends. Fancy, Chammy and their girls.

I love this session. It was so fun to watch the little kids play in the creek. It was a beautiful sunny day and the family was all together again. Some from near and some from far away. They were gathered to remember Jon and to celebrate his birthday. What better way to do so than to meet at one of his favorite places. The light filtered between the tree branches, Mill creek ran by singing a happy little song, and the Titus family spent the day together in this beautiful place.

These two are the cutest brother and sister duo. Don’t you love their happy faces and laughter. I love it so much. They were so great too. They didn’t mind hugging or taking pictures together a bit. My Miss Maya had to get in on a few cousin pictures too since she is a cousin. So keep your eye open for her purple coat, and have a happy day friends!

This project is close to my heart. I was having a rough winter. Working through the feelings that come with loss, sickness, grief. I was feeling so low. I felt like God put on my heart to reach out to other women and to lift them up. To create a session where I could help them see how beautiful they are. How worthwhile they are. The song Beautiful, by Mercy Me, really fit with what I wanted to say and express. I reached out to my photography followers to ask if anyone would want to join me for this project. I had the perfect volunteers. Women who I love and respect and who I really enjoyed hanging out with for an evening of photography and gabbing and laughter. I love all of these ladies so much. Each one is making it through life in their own way. Each one has things they are excited for and looking forward to. Things they are working on. I hope you love this project to. I hope it speaks to your heart. You are beautiful, you are treasured, you are loved!

Derek and Maggie are some of my favorite people. I love how much fun they have together. They are always laughing and smiling when I see them. I’ve also seen them have a servants heart for their friends. So, it’s always fun when I get to meet up with them and do a session. They have a love that I enjoy capturing in photos.

The question isn’t who is going to let me; it’s who is going to stop me? – Ayn Rand
Hunter, I can see in your eyes you are a determined young man. One who has ambitions and ideas. It can be overwhelming when you look at the next step. I have a feeling you have it all planned out though. As you head into life and the business of getting where you think you should go and learning what you think you should learn. Don’t forget all those hobbies you love. Get out there with your truck and make sure mudding stays on your list of to do’s. Being successful in life is great, but remembering to enjoy the journey is even better. Love the people around you the best you can, look for the little things in life that make you happy and appreciate them, and always speak positively to yourself. You are and always will be your greatest ally. When the going gets rough get on your knees and ask for help. Jesus will always have your back. The next chapter of your life is about to emerge, and it’s going to be a good one. Enjoy it!
